A Musical Evening Remembering MAHANAYAK with Rajlakshmi Shyam

Kolkata, May 06: Eminent designer Rajlakshmi Shyam celebrated an evening through playing piano in the tunes of ‘MAHANAYAK’ Uttam Kumar. Through the musical evening Rajlakshmi, who also is an acclaimed pianist, mesmerizes the audiences with the touch of her fingers. She actually paid the tribute to MAHANAYAK and his NAYIKAS. Social activist Saira Shah Halim plays the role of narrator in the entire musical evening. Rajlakshmi said that, “When I am in my childhood, I met MAHANAYAK and it still remains live in my heart.” Director Manoj Michingan, Sanjoy Nag, ace designer Lopamudra Mandal Saha, Elena Banik and Sujoy Prasad Chattopadhyay also graced the programme. 

FIGHT BACK Star-Studded Calendar Launch

Kolkata, April 14: Mumtaz Sorcar, daughter of eminent magician P.C. Sorcar Jr. and her friend Mayuri Bhattacharya initiated a project named FIGHT BACK from the beginning of the 2014. Then the two energetic ladies have done such a marvellous job. From the inception of FIGHT BACK, the main motto was to empower women to not only protect her from some physical assault but also to empower mentally. These days, women are suffering from an enormous insecurity in their residence as well as their workplace. Mumtaz is providing martial art training to the women.  She also is doing counselling to re-establish their mental strength. Mumtaz and Mayuri recently launched their FIGHT BACK Calendar in presence of P.C.Sorcar Jr., Joyshree Sorcar, Maneka Sorcar and Moubani Sorcar. The calendar featured those eminent women faces, already have broken the barriers of the patriarchal society. In a launch programme at Mukti World, there are galore of trendsetter like Jojo, Sarbari Datta, Jaya Seal Ghosh, Lopamudra Mandal Saha, Saira Shah Halim, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Joy Sarkar, Arijit Dutta and Paroma Bannerjee. 

ARFAMUTE : Star Studded Red Carpet Fashion Event In Kolkata

Kolkata,April 12: Rajlakshmi Creations had organised an unique cultural event ARFAMUTE recently. The red carpet night turned to a star-studded event actually. Eminent music director Debojyoti Mishra, painter Wasim Kapoor, eminent poet Subodh Sarkar and noted artist Ilina Banik also have been seen on the night along with designer Lopamudra Mandal Saha, Ishita Chakraborty, Deepta Chakravarty was also graced the event. After a long time ace designer Lopamudra Mandal Saha walked in the ramp carrying Rajlakshmi's collection. Danish Ambassador to India, HE Freddy Svane was present as the Chief Guest. Designer Lopamudra said that, “I am walking in ramp after a long time. It is a great pleasure for me to showcase a huge collection in front of such a beautiful people present here. Rajlakshmi and her collection is honestly my very favourite and I am present here today only for her.”

Amalin Datta Launches His Brand "AMALIN"

Kolkata, March 30: Amalin Datta, designer son of ace fashion maker Sharbari Datta; launches his fashion label “Amalin” for women. In a launching show; glamorous model Indrani Dasgupta, Satarupa Pyne, Ushoshi Sengepta, Sona Goldar and Pallavi Das showcased the brand “Amalin”. Diva Raima Sen was the showstopper. Amalin said that, “I like creating alternative forms of experience. A key element in this is design, another, of course, is fabric. I derive motivation from everything in life-music, art, texture, colour, architecture, nature. As I grew up in a very artistic family, I was imbued with a deep respect for every arts tradition in this world. My design is inspired by my love for the genius of artisans, weavers and potters the world over”. The launching night actually turned into a galore of stars. Indrani Halder, celebrated actor said about Amalin, “Sharbari Di and her family is just a family for me. I am attached with this family with a strong lace. My dress and my husband’s dress in my marriage also were from Sharbari Di. Amalin, is launching his range but I know that he is a beautiful designer like his mother. Actually, perfection is the keyword for the family. Kanak, Amalin’s wife is also a very good friend of mine. There is a saying nah, behind every successful man there is an woman; I think Kanak is that woman behind Amalin.”  Director duo Sudeshna Roy and Avijit Guha, Cactus Sidhu, Dancing sensation Alokananda Roy, Sambaran Banerjee, Alvito D-Cunha, designer Agnimitra Paul, Sukalyann Bhattacharya, designer Lopamudra Mandal Saha, Indroneel Mukherjee, Avishek Dutta, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Locket Chatterjee,  were also present to cheer up for Amalin.

Fire-Fliers 2014 In Kolkata

Kolkata, March 22: ‘FIREFLIES’ a fashion and lifestyle exhibition held in Taj Bengal Hotel, organized by four friends Priti, Saloni, Sneha and Shilpi. The exhibition is an encouragement for all the young and fresh talent in fashion and glamour arena while the unique collections of renowned designer have been showcased equally.

             Products at display were varies from jewellery and clothes to footwear and home decor items. Special stalls were set up to cater to kids’ products. A huge range of Indian and international brands catering to men’s and women’s products were also featured at the exhibition. This time the organisers gave platform to two NGO’s like Aarham and Karmyog, to showcase their causes & concerns to an audience which can help make a difference.

                While Hena Nafis gave some consultation on Child obesity and kids eating disorders, Arti Sultania had some mind blowing ‘Out of the box’ accessories collection for children and Abhishek Dutta showcased his new line on kids’ apparel – “AD Lil by Abhishek Dutta”; Lopamudra Mandal Saha and her Studio Eye showcased a new range of easy to carry  dresses with a range of jewellery items.
