Centenary Celebration of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh

Kolkata, February 09: The centenary celebration of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh have been organised by ‘Shrutinandan’, a musical institute run by Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty. Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee had been inaugurated the programme on 7th February at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra and on the 9th February the city experienced the performance of the titans. In an exclusive programme at Netaji Indoor Stadium; Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Zakir Hussain along with new-gen heartthrob Arijit Singh and Kaushiki Chakrabarty just mesmerises the crowd. Pandit Tanmay Bose, Bikram Ghosh, Pandit Arun Bhaduri also graced the programme while singing sensation Sandhya Mukherjee and Sheriff of Kolkata Ranjit Mallick graced the inauguration programme with Chief Minister. Son of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh, Pandit Mallar Ghosh along with his wife Mallika expresses their heartfelt thanks to Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty for organising such a programme for Guruji.

Koushiki Chakraborty at 'THE LAWNS' of Birla Academy



Kolkata, February 8: Eminent classical singer Kaushiki Chakrabarty simply spells bounded the audience in The Lawns of Birla Academy this evening. In around two hours Kaushiki just steeps the heart with the ray of Indian classical music. She especially sung the compositions of her father Pandit AjoyChakrabarty and Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh, whom she used to call ‘Gaan-Dadu’. Incidentally, this is the centenary year of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh.

Sharmila Tagore launched “JANANI”, a book by Dr. Gautam Khastagir

Kolkata, January 28: Doyen of Indian Cinema, Smt. Sharmila Tagore launched “JANANI”, a book on women’s health, written by noted Gynaecologist, Dr. Gautam Khastagir. Dr. Khastagir is the Medical Director of Bengal Infertility and Reproductive Therapy Hospital (BIRTH).

            By inaugurating the book Smt. Tagore said that, “Women health is really neglected over the years in our country. I have thoroughly read Gautam’s book and it is well written really. For this successful effort I really give my heartfelt thanks to him.”


            “I have observed during my 15 years of practice that women’s health is a highly neglected subject in India. I have conceived this book keeping in mind that there is a need to increase awareness so I primarily focuses 60 problems related to women’s health”, said Dr. Khastagir.

12 Differently Able Men Completed Rowing Expedition "Beyond Belief 7"

Kolkata, February 03: 12 physically challenged young men started rowing with four country boats on 30th January and reached Man-O-War Jetty near Princep Ghat by covering 385 kilometers of waterway. The participants have disabilities from 55% to 90% but they defeated their problems every-time they got opportunity. This is the 7th season of 'Beyond Belief', an initiative of Kolkata Sukriti Foundation. Eminent footballer Chuni Goswami and noted hockey player Gurbux Singh also graced the programme by being present in Flag in Ceremony.
