Kolkata, February 14: Tolly-Town beauty Indrani Halder spent her Valentine’s Day with 50 special children in Institute of Special Child Care Unit at Park Circus. She and her pal Biswajit Layek distributed cakes, chocolates, cookies, juices and fruits to all of them. Eventually, today was Biswajit's birthday too. Indrani said, “Today is Valentine Day, the day to love. I am doing what I want actually. It is not necessary that you always have to love or spend time for your fiancĂ©e, if love is the point then I feel gratified by loving these children. Some people saying that these children are special child, I don’t know what they properly mean but they are really special for me and I mean it.” The children expressed their utter happiness with the time they spent. They all are happy for they got some gifts from ‘didi’ too. They celebrated their Valentine Day at extreme.

BNWCCC Celebrated Their 12 Years With Swastika Mukherjee
Kolkata, February 13: Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child Care Centre (BNWCCC) today celebrated their completion of 12 years since its inception in 2002. In these years they have successfully delivered 22000 babies including over hundred of twins and triplets. This time with association of GENOME-The Fertility Centre BNWCCC organized “Baby’s Day Out”, a day-long fun fiesta themed “Around the World Carnival”. It is themed for the children to experience a mini world tour in a day. Celebrated actor Swastika Mukherjee was seen in cake cutting ceremony and spending her quality time with the babies and their parents. Director of BNWCCC Mrs. Madhu Neotia said that, “We always look forward to being connected to the babies born in our centre. It is a great pleasure to see in front of our eyes that the babies are growing. And this event helps us to renew and sustain our relationship with parents and babies.”
5th Asian Mining Congress Inauguration by Sriprakash Jaiswal
Kolkata, February 13: Coal Minister of India Mr. Sriprakash Jaiswal inaugurated 5th Asian Mining Congress today. An exhibition on International Mining, Exploration, Mineral Processing Technology, Metals & Machinery also kick-started today in the Saltlake Stadium of Kolkata. Deputy Minister of Economy of Poland, Dr. Jerzy Witold Pietrewicz along with Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Katarzyna Kacperczyk also graced the inauguration ceremony.
In the inauguration ceremony Mr. Jaiswal said that, “India has raced ahead in the mining industry to reach a place among the top five global producers and also has reached ahead of South Korea and Germany; once leader in this field. The mining industry is set to reach $36.5 billion by 2016, riding high output of key minerals.”
The exhibition this year consisted of over 300 exhibitors, 600 delegates and most valuably participation of over 30 countries including Poland, Czech Republic, Australia, Germany, UK, Russia, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and other parts of Asia, Africa, America and Europe.
The 5th Asian Mining Congress and Exhibition will held from 13th to 15th February 2014 with the theme of “Scenario of Mining in Asia and Investment Opportunities”. The lead topics will be; Status of Mineral Industry in Asian Countries, New Mineral Development Projects in Asia, Oil and Gas, Advances in Technology, Mineral Processing and Coal beneficiation, Environment-Safety and Health Issues, Investment Opportunities in mining Industry and Green Mining for sustainable future.

Centenary Celebration of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh

February 09: The centenary celebration of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh have been
organised by ‘Shrutinandan’, a musical institute run by Pandit Ajay
Chakrabarty. Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee had been inaugurated the
programme on 7th February at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra and on the 9th
February the city experienced the performance of the titans. In an exclusive
programme at Netaji Indoor Stadium; Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Zakir
Hussain along with new-gen heartthrob Arijit Singh and Kaushiki Chakrabarty
just mesmerises the crowd. Pandit Tanmay Bose, Bikram Ghosh, Pandit Arun
